Over the years I have studied, learned, tried and tested ways to make tending a busy, loving home easy and effective while cultivating and enjoying my hobbies. Now I am sharing it all with you here at Tending Home. Young or young at heart, beginner or seasoned, anyone with a passion for creating an enriching home will find a bounty of ideas here in the pages of my blog.
Tending Home is a philosophy. Cooking, baking, sewing, crafting, cleaning, organizing, planning, teaching, and nurturing are all tended to lovingly and efficiently in an effort to place the focus on the family. Our family’s home is a firm foundation of comfort and support built upon traditions and a rhythmic routine.
I’m a nurse by education, and a wife and mother by heart. My loving husband and I have been together for 2 decades.
We have 5 children ranging in age from third grade to “Mom, can I borrow the car keys?”
We are a retired military family who tended home during 7 moves, 5 births, and 3 deployments.
We are a homeschooling family which means we spend a lot of time together in the home.
We are a busy family which means we spend a lot of time on the go.
We are an industrious family which means we always have a project in the works.
Home is an alluring word. It’s the place we belong. It’s the cherished memories of our childhood, and the reward at the end of every day. It’s the dream and the journey all rolled into one. While home means something unique to each person, it’s a shared and enriching experience for all. A strong, supportive home enables us to go out and embrace the world with enthusiasm and curiosity knowing we have a soft, nurturing place to land at the end of the day.
